Infectious Disease Officer
U.S. Army Medical Corps

Advance your medical career while contributing to the health and wellness of our Soldiers. As an Infectious Disease Officer within Army Medicine, your role will involve investigating the origins, impacts, and trends of infectious diseases, including threats from biological warfare. Through collaborative research, you will work alongside other healthcare professionals to confirm diagnoses, treat, and manage the spread of infectious diseases in both military settings and the communities you serve.
Your responsibilities may also include participating in humanitarian missions aimed at combating the spread of infectious diseases and discovering innovative prevention strategies. If you opt to join the Army Reserve, you will have the opportunity to serve your country when needed while continuing to support your local community.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. institution
- International graduates may apply if they possess a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
- Must have a current, valid, unrestricted medical license in the United States, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory
- Eligibility for board certification is required
- Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship is necessary
- Must meet the qualifications to be appointed as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve
- Must be a permanent resident of the United States
