Emergency Department RN

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care in a critical access hospital setting, focusing on emergency care during night shifts. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency medical services in a rural community setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential. Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for emergency patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Respond to emergency situations with appropriate nursing interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment and care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• Experience working in a rural or critical access hospital setting.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Familiarity with emergency department protocols and equipment.

• Night shift work from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Work schedule includes every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holiday rotations.
• Position is 0.75 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), approximately 60 hours per bi-weekly pay period.
• Ability to work in a rural community hospital environment.

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Rotating weekends every third weekend.
• Holiday rotation required.
• Shift assignments determined by department scheduling policies.
