Senior Technology Designer

Senior Technology DesignerIMEG is hiring a Senior Technology Designer in Greenwood Village, CO, to serve as lead designer for large, highly complex projects. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and consultants to provide project leadership, technical solutions, and client guidance while leading engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology (ICT) systems in buildings. You'll also manage project budgets, lead training and mentoring initiatives, and partner with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead design efforts for IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systemsCreate detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standardsPerform site assessments and develop technical analyses and reportsPartner with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong working relationshipsConduct in-process design reviews and ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirementsProvide technical training, mentoring, and field issue support with minimal senior staff oversightLead research, development, and innovation efforts related to low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering and emerging industry practicesIdentify and mitigate safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsLead project interviews and project presentationsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry ORAssociates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred18 years of experience minimum required, 20 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industryMastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsMastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildingsStrong training, mentoring and leadership skillsAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to adapt to new challengesProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsMust have the ability to travel up to 50%, including local, domestic, and international travel as needed for business purposes, which may include overnight stays and/or air travelThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join UsIMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
