About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead its mission-driven engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on technical leadership, mentoring and managing software engineering personnel, and ensuring the adoption of state-of-the-art practices and tools, including those enabled by AI. This role requires a strong focus on architectural standards, rapid agile development, and high-quality delivery, all in alignment with business objectives. The VP will also be instrumental in fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation, and will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable. Candidates for the Vice President of Software Engineering position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for an advanced degree, and at least 15 years of technical experience in software engineering. A minimum of 7 years in a leadership role, particularly in managing agile software development teams and leveraging AI tools, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in defining software architecture and design standards, leading modernization efforts, and driving the adoption of modern engineering practices. Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to make strategic decisions regarding technology and platform selections. Experience in recruiting and retaining top technical talent, as well as a commitment to diversity and inclusion, is also highly valued.
