Requirements We are currently recruiting for a full-time Medical Assistant supporting psychiatric prescribers. In this role you will be a key liaison between the patient and the provider responding to patient questions and communicating orders from the provider. Additional Responsibilities Include: Prepping patients by checking vital signs, guiding patients to exam rooms and providing instructions before they’re seen by Clinicians Documenting psychiatric encounters including chief complaints, diagnoses, treatment plans, orders, and medications into the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system Passing prescribed medications, transmitting electronically prescribe prescriptions, and processing refill requests Monitoring patients for safety Completing prescription prior authorizations Reviewing charts to ensure accuracy Helping to maintain efficient patient flow in a fast paced environment Gathering and verifying insurance coverage or helping process claims paperwork Cleaning or maintaining medical equipment and supplies Responding to written and verbal patient inquiries Other duties as assigned We are seeking a professional and energetic candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills who understands the importance of patient care. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy (EHR experience preferred) and possess a basic understanding of psychiatry principles. A college degree is required with a preference for a biology, neuroscience, pre-med, psychology, or related major. Experience in a medical office, or equivalent education preferred. Prior experience in a healthcare setting a plus and this is a role that many gap year students have filled in the past while applying to medical school. #J-18808-Ljbffr Aris Clinic
