Job Title: Medical Assistant

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

Location: Bridgeport, CT 06604

Duration: 13-Week Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Assistant / Patient Service Coordinator to support both clinical and front-office operations in an ambulatory care setting. This role requires a candidate who is comfortable assisting providers with patient care while also managing patient registration, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain/document vital signs.
• Provide clinical support to onsite providers during patient visits.
• Assist with patient intake, medical documentation, and workflow coordination.
• Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications.
• Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls while addressing patient inquiries.
• Maintain accurate patient records and demographic information.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant and/or Patient Service Coordinator in an ambulatory or outpatient healthcare setting.
• Experience with patient rooming and obtaining vital signs.
• Experience supporting providers in a clinical setting.
• Proficiency with scheduling, registration, check-in/check-out, and patient communication workflows.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a physician practice, clinic, or outpatient setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
