RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

Location: Augusta, GA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care in a progressive care unit. The nurse will work effectively with a cohesive team and is responsible for managing patient care with specific attention to cardiac and insulin drips. The position is suited for candidates who demonstrate integrity, teamwork, and a patient-centered focus.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient ratios ideally at 1:4, currently supporting a 1:5 ratio.
• Perform regular vital sign checks every 4 hours or as necessary based on patient condition.
• Administer insulin and cardiac drips in accordance with protocols.
• Document patient assessments and care plans accurately in the Meditech system.
• Collaborate effectively with unit secretaries and PCTs for optimal patient care.
• Participate in self-scheduling with emphasis on team collaboration for shift preference.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must possess current RN licensure.
• ACLS certification required.
• Experience with cardiac care and administration of cardiac and insulin drips preferred.
