Retail Team Member at La SoupeBridging the gap between food waste and hunger in CincinnatiThe Retail Team Member serves as the front desk representative for La Soupe by selling food products, maintaining the front of house space, providing a warm and approachable first point of contact for visitors to La Soupe, answering phone calls, and communicating La Soupe's mission.Reports to: Retail SupervisorPayroll type: Hourly (non-exempt)Days/hours work: Up to 16 hours per week, primarily between hours of 8am and 4pm Thursdays and Fridays; flexibility to cover other shifts, including potentially on Saturdays, is desired.Desired timing of hire: ImmediateLocation: La Soupe, 915 E McMillian St, Cincinnati, OH 45206About La Soupe: La Soupe is Ohio's largest chef-led nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between food waste and food insecurity. We rescue surplus food and transform it into healthy meals using a unique chef-based model for the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky community. By combining immediate relief with long-term nutritional education, we're creating a more sustainable, food-secure future.Job ResponsibilitiesOperate the front desk at La SoupeWarmly greet and assist visitors, including customers, volunteers, partners, and donorsAnswer phone calls with knowledge and professionalismMaintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house spaceWelcome neighbors and connect them with appropriate resourcesSell food and merchandise productsKnow and communicate effectively about ingredients and allergens.Understand product well enough to explain & satisfy customers.Manage products with care, including packaging food, monitoring quality, accurately labeling.Maintain accurate inventory counts.Operate register/POS system.
