Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting Neurological patient population including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and pre/post neurosurgery cases Patient ratio of 1:4 Uses Epic charting system Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730, Monday through Friday Weekend rotation required Holiday coverage as needed Floating required as needed Requirements Active RN license (WI or Compact) BLS certification (AHA only) Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in Neuro Med/Surg Tele within the last 3 years Epic charting experience required, within past 12 months preferred Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, including strict criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification Skills in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation Wound care and wound vac management experience IV insulin protocol and medication administration experience (Heparin, Insulin, PCA) Additional Information Provide care for neurological, orthopedic, and med/surg patients including ortho trauma cases Located at a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's 1 hospital Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred First-time travelers will be considered if they have 2 years of Level I or similar size hospital inpatient neuro experience within the last 2 years Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Parking permit may be required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available American Traveler Job ID P-755111.
