Travel RN - ICUAmerican Traveler Downey, California, United States Position status: Open Assignment type: travel Shift: Nights Length (weeks): 15 Openings: 2 Start date: 2026-12-14T00:00:00.000Z $2,233.93/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of ICU/CCU experience and a valid California RN license.DetailsICU/CCU setting with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)Patient ratio of 1:2Every other weekend requiredPossible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele unitsAllscripts charting system experience requiredRequirementsActive California RN license requiredMinimum 3 years of ICU/CCU experience requiredRequired certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, NIHSSCCRN certification preferredProficiency in FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration requiredExperience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation requiredSkilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failureExperience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips requiredCVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun) experience requiredChronic/acute renal failure management experience required; CRRT/CVVHD experience preferredPre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal experience preferredUltrasound-guided PIV and Level 1/Rapid Infuser experience preferredCharge nurse experience preferredReferences required for considerationCopies of required certifications must be submitted for considerationAdditional InformationProvide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU/CCU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring managementPerform emergency medication administration and procedural sedation monitoringAssist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage surgical wounds with drains or wound vacsAdhere to infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols including proper PPE useMust pass an onsite advanced EKG exam (80% or higher) within two attempts prior to start; failure results in assignment cancellationComplete required clinical and non-clinical training modules prior to start, varying by specialtyNo RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 3 RTO days allowed for the full contractMust be willing to work holidaysLocal candidates accepted at the same pay ratePrevious travelers preferred; first-time travelers not preferredReturning staff considered on a case-by-case basisHours per week: 36 Hours per shift: 12
