Schedule: 3 days/week | 12 hours/shift | 36 hours/week

Pay Rate
Local: $58.00 - $62.00/hour
Traveler: $58.00 - $62.00/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking a PICU RN to provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License or applicable compact/multistate RN license.
• BLS Certification.
• Minimum 1 year of PICU RN experience.
• PICU experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Strong pediatric critical-care assessment and patient-management skills.
• Ability to care for critically ill pediatric patients with an expected 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Willingness to float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU as needed.
• Availability for variable weekend shifts.
• 48-hour schedules are not approved.
• Navy Blue scrubs required.
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Monitor vital signs, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac status.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and pediatric healthcare professionals.
• Provide age-appropriate care and family support.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and pediatric critical-care protocols.
• Float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU within competency.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment.
• Work variable weekends according to the facility schedule.
• Perform other PICU RN duties as assigned.
