Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of facility systems, warehousing equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure. This role performs both preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Maintenance Technician works independently and collaboratively to diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues while supporting production and facility operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.100% Onsite role based out of the Lakewood, NJ location.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.Install, set up, modify, relocate, and decommission production lines, equipment, and facility assets.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.Diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing devices, meters, hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.Repair or replace defective components, including motors, bearings, conveyors, pumps, valves, sensors, switches, and other production equipment parts.Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities and accurately document work performed in maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, quality, and efficiency.Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.Evaluate equipment performance and facility needs; research and recommend equipment upgrades, tools, replacement parts, and service providers.Assist with facility maintenance activities, including lighting, HVAC systems, plumbing, compressed air systems, warehouse equipment, and general building upkeep.Support facility security processes, including monitoring security systems, alarms, access control systems, and emergency response procedures.Maintain facility records related to repairs, inspections, pest control, sanitation, and regulatory compliance activities.Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.Respond to equipment failures and facility emergencies during scheduled shifts and on-call assignments.Assist with moving, installation, and transportation of equipment, machinery, materials, and facility furnishings as needed.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.The above duties are meant to be representative of the position and not all-inclusive.Minimum Job Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required; technical school or maintenance certification preferred.Minimum of four (4) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or related environment.Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, welding, and plumbing systems.Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance machinery.Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.Willingness to participate in an on-call schedule and respond to after-hours emergencies.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking abilities.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Ability to diagnose and repair equipment failures in a timely manner.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.Working knowledge of PLC systems and industrial controls.Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, personnel lifts, and other material handling equipment (or ability to become certified).Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Understanding of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace safety requirements.Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Physical Demands:Regularly stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in elevated locations.Frequently use hands and arms to reach, grasp, handle, and manipulate tools and equipment.Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier loads with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions, including manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor settings.Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment and maintenance tools.Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges and meters, and interpret visual indicators when troubleshooting equipment.Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal communications in a manufacturing environment.May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear.Must be able to respond to emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours and on-call support.Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The expected base pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour. The actual compensation for the position may vary based on market differences and on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and can vary based on location and/or work schedule.
