About the Position

Job Title: Nursing Administration Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year of CVICU experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred Must-Have: Competent in invasive line monitoring and cardiac medications; EPIC experience; preference for travelers with specific CV surgical experience Description: Facility is a Level II Trauma Center. It has a Level III NICU and is Magnet Designated. The facility has 933 beds. The unit has 30 beds. Patient census averages daily. Patient types include immediate post-op cardiac surgeries, thoracic surgeries, and vascular surgeries. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 if in regular ICU status, with a mixed status of 1:3. Technical staff ratio is 1:8-10. There is support within the department from a charge nurse and a hospitalist on site 24/7. There is also a dedicated intensivist and CT surgeon available around the clock. ICU designated respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Nurse's station telemetry monitoring is used, but there is no technical staff. Phlebotomy assistance is available for peripheral blood draws. Technology includes EMR: EPIC, IV pumps, and GE monitors. Floating may occur to other ICU units and outpatient departments. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation every third week and 1-2 holiday shifts per contract. Approval for time off is allowed up to 7 days. Shift times are either 0700-1900 or 1900-0700, with a 6-week schedule cycle provided in advance. There is adherence to a fatigue policy that limits shifts to 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts. Scrub color is any solid color, professional. No graphics, logos, or designs are permitted.
