Base pay range $20.00/hr - $22.00/hr Job Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift and handle palletized and non-palletized material movement around the warehouse. Maneuver freight, load, and unload both by hand and with equipment including pallet jack and forklift. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow safety procedures and assist with general warehouse duties. Hot Buttons A positive attitude is #1. Highly dependable. Punctuality and attendance are a high priority. Candidates cannot miss a day within the first 90 days of employment. If candidates have prescheduled time off they must be submitted prior to the beginning of their working interview and be approved. A sense of urgency and willingness to work. There is always something to do here. Candidates should be proactive to avoid downtime. There is no standing around. A willingness to learn new skills. The skills learned here are unique to this industry. People interested in cars, computers, and other technical work will excel here. Operational Roles The Forklift Operator works throughout the operation as needed. The positions they cover include: Forklift – Operators – Load and unload trucks, move inventory throughout the operation, assist with feeding materials into the Shredder, removing processed materials, staging materials, and loading trucks for final shipment. Receiving – identifies part numbers and routes the products to the proper workflow. The workflow is the beginning step for that item. Scale Operator – Records the weight of the product, the status of inventory and assists in the shipping process. This position requires level 3 in computer literacy to be effective. Other Positions They May Cover Sorters / Recovery – separates items that can go to the resale department or move on the recycling process. Pickers – The product being processed and removes items that are not where they should be. Sorters – Review products and sort them to their proper destinations. Shredder – Place the items into the Shredder machine while maintaining safety standards. Workflows Finished Goods – the items sent here are ready to be sold. Material Inspection – items sent here need to have some element removed by hand. Printer cartridges, batteries, and other similar items that do not need further handling are sent to the Shredder. Dismantled – items needing to be broken down further and requires tools to remove target items are sent here to be processed. Solar Panel – solar panels are sent to this station to be prepped for the Shredder. Shredder – this is the destination for all workflows. Items are sent here to be processed, shredded, and separated into recycled material. Skills and Attributes Bi-lingual employees need to have basic English skills. Individuals who like to work on cars, assemble computers, or are mechanically savvy. Highly organized with attention to detail. Proactive and likes to keep busy. Is very flexible regarding where they work. They don’t get hung up on doing the same thing every day. Recycling Technicians are responsible for multiple workstations and must be cross trained. Is career minded and understands that this is an on-boarding process to join Pedal Point as a fulltime employee and they want to join the team. Can lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Understands that attendance and punctuality are extremely important and is a central concern. Being punctual and working every shift scheduled is mandatory for full-time employment. Computer literacy is preferred as some stations require the operation of in-house software. A positive attitude is highly prized here. No drama will be tolerated.
