These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work-life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.Travel ispossible as determined by business need but typically less than 5%This position works closely with multiple departments including Mechanical, Marketing, Strategic Sourcing, Accounts Payable, Materials, Internal and External Reporting, Capital, Tax, Payroll, Manpower Planning, Engineering Structures, Finance, and Accounting.Key responsibilities may include: Responsible for the review and management of operating expenses related to BNSF’s Mechanical functions among other items. Includes;Recording of ongoing journal entries.Forecasting and Closing activities related to Income Statement/ Balance Sheet lines, such as close vs. forecast variance explanations.Preparation of monthly close reports.Creation of the Annual plan.Responsible for the review and management of capital expenditures related to BNSF’s Mechanical functions among other items. Includes;Monitoring actual expense vs. authorized amount for AFE’s by area or responsibility.Forecasting and Closing activities related to Capital expenditures.Coordinating with business partners to establish the Capital Plan; obtaining approval for and creating CPAR’s and AFE’s.Prepares and presents financial related information to personnel in the field and Mechanical operations personnel at headquarters to assist in the ongoing review of budgetary areas.Works closely with Mechanical operations personnel to provide ongoing support and assistance as part of Mechanical’s management of relevant budgetary areas.
