DIRECT CARE STAFF – GROUP HOME AND DAY TREATMENT

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY

Miracle Houses, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, and attentive Direct Care Staff to support individuals participating in its residential group home and day treatment programs.

Direct Care Staff provide supervision, structure, and hands-on support while implementing individualized plans and maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide direct supervision and support in group home and day treatment settings.
• Follow each client's person-centered plan, treatment plan, behavioral plan, and safety requirements.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, hygiene, routines, meals, transportation, and community participation.
• Support participation in educational, therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activities.
• Use approved behavioral interventions, redirection, and de-escalation techniques.
• Observe and document client behavior, progress, needs, and changes in condition.
• Complete daily notes, shift summaries, attendance records, behavioral documentation, and incident reports.
• Immediately report injuries, incidents, medication concerns, behavioral changes, and safety risks.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and structured program environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, training, and treatment-team discussions.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, Qualified Professionals, clinical staff, and other authorized team members.
• Transport clients when assigned and follow transportation and vehicle-safety procedures.
• Follow medication-administration procedures when trained and authorized.
• Comply with company policies and all licensing, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor or program leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet all state and program requirements for direct care personnel.
• Previous experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral-health clients, or individuals in residential care preferred.
• Ability to follow individualized plans and written instructions.
• Ability to complete accurate documentation within required timeframes.
• Ability to remain calm during behavioral or emergency situations.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record when transportation duties are assigned.
• Must successfully complete required background checks, health screenings, and other pre-employment requirements.
• Must complete required CPR, first aid, medication, safety, and crisis-intervention training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active throughout the assigned shift.
• Ability to assist clients with daily activities and respond during emergency situations.
• Ability to complete the physical functions required by approved safety and crisis-intervention procedures.
• Ability to work in residential, classroom, community, and transportation environments.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position. Available shifts may include daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours based on program needs.

COMPENSATION

The pay range for this position is $17.00–$22.00 per hour. The final rate will be based on direct care experience, credentials, completed training, assigned responsibilities, and other job-related qualifications.
