Must-Have:
A strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
Experience with procedural care nursing or pediatric ICU


Description:
This position is for a Pediatric Cardiology RN in the Pediatric Cardiac Prep and Recovery unit.
The RN will perform a minimum of 2-3 patient visits per day.
Responsibilities include both pre and post-anesthesia care for patients undergoing special cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional catheterization procedures.
The patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients.
The RN will also assist with sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups.
Staff are expected to remain until the last patient is either discharged or admitted, which typically does not extend past 19:00.
Weekend shifts are not required.
There is no on-call requirement.
All requests for time off must be included at the time of submission, as approval will be based on facility need.
The facility allows for one shift to be called off every two weeks.
Travelers should be aware that all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
Candidates must possess experience with monitoring venipuncture, interpreting clinical results, and patient education.
This role also includes responsibilities such as medication reconciliation, oxygen administration, and obtaining vital signs.
Staff members will work closely with interdisciplinary support teams.
The facility welcomes first-time travelers.
It is crucial for candidates to have a valid state nursing license by the proposed start date.
