We are seeking an accomplished global leader to shape and drive corporate impact strategies that deliver meaningful, measurable improvements in animal welfare. In this executive role, you will lead international corporate campaigns designed to influence the policies and practices of major companies across the global food industry. You will work closely with executive leadership and regional teams to prioritize high-impact opportunities, build effective advocacy strategies, and hold organizations accountable for their commitments. Combining strategic vision with hands-on campaign leadership, you will guide negotiations, mobilize public pressure when needed, and turn ambitious objectives into tangible outcomes. You will also develop a high-performing international team, strengthen cross-regional collaboration, and oversee resources to maximize impact. This is an opportunity to advance a more humane and sustainable food system through evidence-based advocacy, organizational leadership, and partnerships across the animal protection movement.
Accountabilities
Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to define and execute a global corporate impact strategy with ambitious, measurable objectives aligned with organizational priorities.
Identify and prioritize companies, industries, markets, and campaign opportunities with the greatest potential to improve animal welfare.
Manage the global corporate impact portfolio, allocating resources strategically and deciding which initiatives to accelerate, adapt, or discontinue based on expected impact.
Translate strategic priorities into comprehensive campaign plans with clear objectives, responsibilities, milestones, budgets, and performance indicators.
Establish and monitor impact metrics that measure corporate policy implementation, verified changes in business practices, and tangible improvements for animals.
Evaluate campaign effectiveness using organizational impact frameworks, evidence, and performance data to strengthen results and cost-effectiveness.
Lead the development and execution of sophisticated global corporate campaigns, from target selection and engagement through negotiation, public advocacy, escalation, and implementation.
Build strategies that influence corporate decision-makers through constructive dialogue, negotiation, reputational incentives, strategic advocacy, and coordinated public pressure where necessary.
Establish clear expectations for corporate commitments, including implementation timelines, transparent progress reporting, and accountability mechanisms.
Monitor company performance, identify barriers to implementation, and take decisive action when organizations fail to meet their commitments.
Track developments in corporate behavior, animal agriculture, and food markets, sharing relevant intelligence with internal research and impact teams.
Collaborate with investigations, marketing and communications, organizing, policy, and other functions to coordinate campaign activities and maximize organizational impact.
Build and maintain relationships with senior corporate executives, advocacy organizations, coalition partners, funders, and other influential stakeholders while preserving organizational independence.
Lead, develop, and empower a high-performing global corporate impact team, establishing a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and execution.
Set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, develop talent, and ensure team members are accountable for delivering results.
Partner with regional Managing Directors to align priorities, coordinate global campaigns, share effective practices, and adapt strategies to local market conditions.
Improve internal processes, reduce unnecessary complexity, and explore technology and AI solutions that strengthen campaign delivery and organizational effectiveness.
Contribute to enterprise-wide strategy, resource allocation, and major organizational decisions as a strategic partner to executive leadership.
Oversee the global corporate impact budget, ensuring responsible resource allocation and alignment with strategic goals.
Work with development and finance teams on grant proposals, restricted funding requirements, financial stewardship, reporting, and program outcomes.
Build strategic partnerships with organizations across the animal protection movement, coordinating efforts when collaboration can increase collective impact.
Requirements
Significant leadership experience in corporate campaigning, corporate engagement, animal advocacy, or a closely related field, with a demonstrated record of achieving meaningful institutional or corporate change.
Proven success developing and leading complex campaigns that influence major companies, secure meaningful commitments, and drive implementation and accountability.
Deep understanding of the global food industry, corporate supply chains, and the animal welfare challenges associated with industrial animal agriculture.
Exceptional strategic judgment, including the ability to identify high-impact opportunities, make difficult trade-offs, prioritize initiatives, and allocate resources effectively.
Demonstrated experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams, including collaboration across multiple countries, regions, and cultures.
Strong understanding of corporate decision-making, business incentives, negotiation, reputational pressure, public campaigning, and the factors that motivate institutions to change.
Ability to balance constructive corporate engagement with the willingness to challenge powerful organizations when necessary.
Strong analytical and evidence-based decision-making skills, including the ability to interpret performance data, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and improve impact measurement.
Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the credibility to engage senior executives, coalition partners, funders, and organizational leadership.
A proactive, resourceful, and decisive leadership style, with a willingness to address complex challenges directly and take responsibility for outcomes.
Strong organizational management and financial stewardship capabilities, including experience overseeing complex initiatives, teams, budgets, and competing priorities.
Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
A deep commitment to animal protection, reducing animal suffering, and advancing a more just and sustainable food system.
Preferred: Experience leading corporate advocacy or accountability initiatives across multiple countries or regions.
Preferred: Experience within the global farmed animal protection movement and collaboration with international advocacy coalitions.
Preferred: Experience developing or implementing measurable impact frameworks, evaluating campaign outcomes, and managing grant-funded programs.
