Our talented team members across the state follow the behaviors, beliefs and outcomes of these core values to ensure that our vision is met. If you're ready to join the TSTC family and make great memories please complete our application process. Job Description The Talent Acquisition Recruiter supports staff and faculty hiring across assigned departments or campus locations at Texas State Technical College (TSTC). This role manages most of the recruiting cycle independently—from posting jobs and screening candidates to coordinating interviews and delivering offers. The specialist works closely with hiring managers and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to meet staffing needs, maintain accurate candidate records in Workday, and ensure a positive experience for all applicants. This role also participates in job fairs and supports broader outreach and recruiting efforts across the state. Essential Functions The employee will demonstrate TSTC's Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and community members. Full-Cycle Recruiting Manage assigned job requisitions through the full recruiting process—posting, screening, scheduling, interviewing, and offering. Serve as the main point of contact for hiring managers during the recruiting process. Support hiring managers by reviewing job descriptions, suggesting edits, and posting jobs to sourcing platforms. Conduct resume reviews and phone screens to evaluate qualifications and interest. Systems and Reporting Use Workday to track candidate progress, maintain requisition data, and generate basic reports. Sourcing and Outreach Use tools like LinkedIn, Indeed, and local networks to proactively source qualified applicants. Represent TSTC professionally at job fairs, networking events, and workforce board meetings. Campus and HR Collaboration Collaborate with HR Business Partners to meet recruitment needs by department or campus. Assist with internal transfer coordination and onboarding communications. Compliance and Process Support Ensure recruiting activities follow TSTC guidelines and support inclusive hiring practices. Provide general support to the Talent Acquisition team and contribute to team‑based projects. Education, Experience & Skills Minimum Qualifications 3–6 years of experience in recruiting, HR, or a related field. Ability to manage full‑cycle recruiting tasks with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience using applicant tracking systems; familiarity with Workday is preferred. Comfortable juggling multiple open roles and shifting priorities. Willingness to travel for events or on‑campus meetings. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting hiring in a multi‑campus, public sector, or education environment. Working knowledge of EEO and fair hiring practices. Texas State Technical College recognizes that formal education is one of many pathways to readiness. Applicants who do not meet the stated degree requirements but present a combination of directly related experience, training, and industry credentials will be considered. Core Competencies Full‑Cycle Recruiting: Manages all stages of the hiring process with consistency, from posting to offer, ensuring accuracy and follow‑through at each step. Hiring Manager Support: Builds strong working relationships with hiring teams by offering timely updates, clear communication, and practical solutions. System Proficiency: Maintains accurate and up‑to‑date candidate and requisition data in Workday or similar applicant tracking systems; uses tools efficiently. Candidate Experience: Communicates with candidates in a respectful, timely, and transparent way to create a positive hiring experience. Time Management: Organizes tasks effectively, meets deadlines, and balances multiple requisitions without sacrificing quality. Sourcing Skills: Actively finds talent through job boards, referrals, events, and community partnerships; adapts sourcing based on position needs. Team Collaboration: Works well with teammates by sharing knowledge, offering support, and contributing to shared recruiting goals. Community Outreach: Represents TSTC at events and builds local partnerships that help connect talent with opportunities. Extra Duties Statement This job description outlines the general responsibilities and expectations of the role. It is not intended to include every task or responsibility. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
