To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.We are looking for a thermal engineer to be responsible for the system level transient thermal analysis of lunar transport vehicles in ground, launch, Earth orbit, cis-lunar space, lunar orbit, and lunar surface environments using Thermal Desktop. Typical tasks include capturing system inputs, constructing and vetting analysis models, performing system level trade studies, generating temperature and heat transfer predictions, and documenting results.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Collect analysis inputs from stakeholders and responsible engineersDevelop new or modified thermal analysis models to represent vehicle configuration and behaviorCreate analysis cases to evaluate vehicle thermal performance is worst case conditionsCheck own work and correct errors independentlyPost process analysis results to draw engineering conclusions from output dataAuthor and publish analysis reports in various mediums to support engineering decision makingGenerate and present design review content to subsystem, vehicle and business unit partners and customersCreate work plans, document progress and report status to leads and managersMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.4-5 years of relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience.Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals.Demonstrated thermal analysis skills.Familiarity with modeling spacecraft thermal performance using Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint.Preferred Qualifications:M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.8 years of relevant aerospace experience.Demonstrated expertise with modeling spacecraft thermal performance using Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint.Experience solving a variety of thermal problems demonstrating breadth in analysis application.Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, Matlab).Compensation Range for:WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
