Diagnostic Radiology Technologist OR - Weekender Rotation

Job Summary $20,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible applicants. This posting reflects an opening for an X‑ray Tech I; Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels, such as X‑ray Tech II, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, acquire and analyze data as requested by, and for interpretation by, a licensed practitioner. They prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or institutional policy. Job Duties Ensures correct order obtained, patient properly identified and prepared for exam, and clinical history corroborated and documented. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety and applying ALARA principles. Prepares and/or administers medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Evaluates images for proper positioning, acceptable technical quality, and verifies archival storage or transfer of data; performs post‑processing as needed. Educates and monitors students and other health‑care providers. Assists the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Performs diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed, including those performed outside the radiology department (e.g., operating room, endoscopy, ICU). Position Details New graduates must obtain ARRT‑R registry within 6 months of hire date. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024 must complete steps required for advancing to level2 within 24 months. Education Graduate from a specialty training program in radiologic technology (required). Experience Relevant experience in diagnostic imaging and fluoroscopy (not specified but implied). Certification Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body. Certified Radiology Technologist within 24 months – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
