Diesel Engine Mechanic

Norton Energy Drilling is currently looking to hire an experienced diesel engine mechanic to service the company's numerous engines powering its fleet of drilling rigs. Responsibilities Diagnose engine problems and make onsite repairs Adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures Overhaul engines and engine components in shop facility and maintain appropriate spare part inventory Respond to downtime in a timely manner Train and work with rig personnel on proper engine operation and routine maintenance Inspect working rigs for proper engine operation and complete any necessary repairs Provide recommendations for improved engine performance and longevity Knowledge And Skills Excellent working knowledge of the most popular diesel engine makes with the ability to diagnose problems and make field repairs. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time Good communication skills both written and verbal Read and interpret schematic diagrams both hydraulic and electrical Good working knowledge of hydraulic systems Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Experience Previous oilfield experience preferred Three years working with Caterpillar 3500 series engines Work Schedule Living in Lubbock area: Monday through Friday with every other weekend on call Living outside Lubbock area: 14/14 Work vehicle and cell phone provided Benefit eligibility is active the first day of the month after a 60-day grace period, and includes: Benefits Group medical insurance with dependent coverage available Dental and vision insurance available 401K Life insurance and long-term disability #J-18808-Ljbffr NORTON ENERGY DRILLING, LLC
