M365 Administrator (Information Systems Specialist 7)

WHAT YOU WILL DO In this role, you will serve as an advanced Microsoft 365 administrator responsible for owning complex service level issues, implementing platform wide configurations, and improving operational maturity across the M365 GCC environment. You will work independently on advanced troubleshooting, develop repeatable processes, and partner closely with Engineers on architecture driven initiatives. Advanced Tenant & Service Engineering – Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot complex Microsoft365 GCC services, including Exchange Online transport and routing scenarios, Teams/SharePoint cross service integrations, Conditional Access edge cases, and advanced identity lifecycle workflows. Act as the escalation point for operational break/fix work requiring deeper analysis. Advanced Automation & Scripting – Build reusable automation for complex processes using PowerShell, AutoPilot, Copilot, and Power Platform. Improve reliability, reduce manual workload, and expand operational intelligence. Identity & Access Management – Configure, monitor, and govern user setup processes and ongoing permissions with Entra, MFA, Conditional Access, and Windows Hello. Continuously improve the user experience while meeting security hardening requirements. Endpoint Management – Deploy and configure endpoint management systems such as hybrid‑join, Intune, Defender, and Autopilot, optimizing secure management of computers and mobile devices. Cost Management, Compliance, & Licensing – Implement new cost governance policies, maintain cost controls, ensure compliance controls, and govern appropriate usage of all licenses as defined by architects and program leadership. Validate enforcement, remediate violations, and improve monitoring processes to reduce operational risk. Operational Leadership & Mentorship – Mentor technicians, guide best practices, review complex changes, and provide technical leadership in incident response and change planning. TO QUALIFY Your application must demonstrate education and/or experience in the following areas: Option a: Six (6) years of information systems experience in Core Microsoft365 Government Community Cloud (GCC) administration. Option b: An associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR completion of a two (2)‑year accredited vocational training program in information technology or a related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in Core Microsoft365 GCC administration. Option c: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in Core Microsoft365 GCC administration. Option d: A master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in Core Microsoft365 GCC administration. Experience in Core Microsoft365 GCC administration must include establishing and configuring all aspects of Exchange Online for U.S. government environments. All applicants using their education to meet the position requirements must submit a copy of all transcripts no later than the interview to receive credit for college degrees or coursework. Credits must be from an accredited college or university. Transcripts must include name, coursework, and indicate that a degree was obtained. Online transcripts are acceptable for application. An official transcript will be required at the time of hire.
