- # OB Technician - Labor & Delivery - NightsApply: EDH Main Hospital Naperville: Full time: Posted Today: R47855**Hourly Pay Range:**$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.**Position Highlights:*** Position: Ob Technician* Location: Naperville, IL* Full Time - 36 hours/ week* Hours: Nights, 7 pm - 7 am rotating weekends and rotating holidays* Required Travel: No**A Brief Overview:** The OB Technician performs both clerical and nursing care duties within the Family Birthing Center. The OB Technician provides assistance during births, scrubs for c-sections and minor surgeries, performs secretarial duties in the Birth Center and functions as a Nursing Assistant. Floats between all units within the Family Birthing Center. Functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. **What you will do:*** Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for women of childbearing age and their newborn.* Performs surgical scrub role which includes performing any combination of tasks before, during and after surgery to assist the surgical team.* Performs the duties of scrub technician providing the surgeon with correct instruments and equipment maintaining the integrity of the sterile field. Counts sponges and instruments during cases with circulating nurse and applies sterile dressing at completion of procedure. Collects specimens and delivers as necessary.* Cleans operating room, instruments, equipment according to established procedures and restocks room for the next procedure on a timely basis.
