Overview The Terminal Manager supervises the receiving and unloading of bulk cement rail cars and the loading of bulk cement trucks. Qualifications Working knowledge of shipping operations and material flows. Basic mathematics accuracy. Strong mechanical aptitude. Leadership: lead by example, be a good negotiator, team builder. Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach. Good communication skills: writing, speaking, listening. Establishing clear, measurable goals and communicating them. Decision‑making based on identifying problems, gathering information, and generating cost‑effective solutions. Ability to handle stress associated with job duties, deadlines, and personnel interactions. Maintain constructive responses under all circumstances. Work with the public in person and over the telephone efficiently and courteously. Knowledge of safe and productive operation of mobile equipment. Physical fitness. Responsibilities Perform safety inspections of all working areas at least once per shift; additional inspections as warranted. Keep costs in line with budgets and identify cost‑reducing opportunities in operations, maintenance, and repairs. Create and maintain equipment and machinery maintenance schedules. Monitor cement levels in bins and rail cars, notifying producing plant and sales office of impending shortages. Recommend and arrange shipping schedules to meet customer requirements. Problem‑solve: identify problems, develop corrective actions, delegate performance responsibility to subordinates, and hold them accountable. Communicate clearly priorities, goals, and objectives to all production employees. Perform other tasks as directed. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Required 3–5 years of supervisory experience. Required Experience in an industrial environment. Preferred Physical Requirements Working 8‑hour to 12‑hour shifts. Working in hot, cold, muddy, icy, or dusty conditions for extended periods. Subject to twisting, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing. Access silos via elevator and stairway up several flights of stairs or a 200‑ft ladder. Travel routes may include stairs, catwalks, ladders, elevated walkways, and uneven floors. Possibly lift up to 95 lbs.
