Expected pay for this position is $34.00-$54.40. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Job Summary
- The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care for multiple types of patients.
Job Specifications
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Currently licensed RN in the state of Illinois by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Current CPR, ACLS, PALS and CPI certification is required.
  JOB KNOWLEDGE: Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, PPE's, universal precautions, duties during a disaster, and product safety information, all on-line/computer based learning. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required by the employee.
  ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:
  1. Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand instructions and to communicate with other caregivers.
  2. Numerical ability is needed to correctly tally patient's I & O and ensure correct dosages of medications
  3. Visual acuity is needed to assist and monitor patients.
  4. Ability to read and write is needed for documentation on patient records.
  5. Ability to adapt, follow directions in a composed manner, and use critical thinking skills during emergency situations.
  6. Empathy and consideration is needed to deal with patients and their family members.
  7. Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand the physician's orders and communicate with other caregivers regarding care of the patient, as well as to present educational information to patients, staff and the public as needed.
  8. Clinical perception is needed to monitor the patient and interpret and implement physician's orders
  9. Finger dexterity is needed for, but not limited to, handling medical equipment, giving IM medications, assembling IV lines and for different physical exams.
  The RN will successfully complete orientation and hospital-wide and department-specific CBL's (computerized based learning). The RN will participate in departmental in-services and will demonstrate competency by completing the service specific competency testing / evaluation process, as appropriate to the RN role. Continuing education programs will be offered to augment the RN's knowledge of pertinent developments in patient care and to foster a performance improvement environment.
