Assistant Property Manager, Multifamily

Job Title : Assistant Property Manager, Multifamily Mesa Station Apartments The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining our communities to a market-ready standard, ensuring a high level of service at all times. Assistant Property Managers also build and motivate high-performing teams to maximize property performance. Responsibilities Ensuring the smooth running of our community in a fast‑paced environment. Assist the Property Manager with overall operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits. Provide superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability. Complete lease/renewal paperwork to ensure completion to company standards. Track and evaluate advertising and all client traffic. Maintain and model the Cushman & Wakefield mission to be the best national management company. Assist the Property Manager with day‑to‑day operations of the entire on‑site team, ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Maintain effective on‑site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching. Maintain residents’ files in accordance with company standards. Maintain a positive living environment for community residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up. Manage and maintain all aspects of overall community budget and finances. Work with leasing staff to ensure leasing/marketing goals are met. Competencies & Qualifications Effective communication and customer service skills. Computer‑literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation. General office, bookkeeping and sales skills with excellent oral and written communication. Determine leasing opportunities for staff and work on goal setting to improve performance. Supervise day‑to‑day team operations, ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Manage a team and perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Education Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Vocational school required. Experience 3+ years of Property Management experience and 1+ year of Management experience. Work Environment This role operates in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regular travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions is required. Physical Demands Employees may need to stand and walk for extended periods, ascend and descend staircases, ladders, or step stools, and travel outside between buildings. Tasks include sitting or standing for 85% of the time, using office machinery, traveling up to 15% of the time, and lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 25 pounds occasionally or frequently. Benefits and Compensation Compensation range: $22.10 - $26.00 per hour. Competitive pay varies by location, hire date, hours, job type, and collective bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
