About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30); Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of OR RN experience required License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Must have oncology surgery experience with general surgery experience. Level 2 trauma experience is required; Level 1 is strongly preferred. Experience with a majority of the following cases is required: Whipple, Esophagectomy, Ex Lap, Bowel resection, Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy, Adrenalectomy-Laparoscopic, Neck dissection, Breast reduction, Stage one and two breast reconstruction, Free Flaps, Mastectomy, Lumpectomy, Sentinel lymph node biopsy, Melanoma excisions. DaVinci experience is highly preferred. Oncology, Ortho, and Neuro experience are highly preferred. Candidates must be 100% nicotine-free. Travelers should have prior travel experience. Description: This position requires an experienced registered nurse in the operating room. The RN will float as needed and work outside of their specialty. The role mainly focuses on day shifts, with potential night shift rotations. Call requirements include 1-2 nights per week on average. Weekend call is approximately every 4-5 weeks, requiring 24 hours coverage either Saturday or Sunday. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Please be advised that the callback rate is only paid if the traveler is on-call offsite and called back after their shift. Shifts should not run over without proper communication regarding hours worked. Travelers will not receive the same compensation as core staff members. Travelers should direct any questions related to their pay to their agency. All requirements indicate a need for oncology surgery experience due to fluctuating cases. Candidates should possess a wide variety of skills to adapt to different procedures.
