Veterinary Assistant

Job Description Overview Assist with patient care and treatment. Monitor hospitalized pets and support care after surgery. Maintain inventory and stocking. Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims. Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (e.g., taking radiographs, running bloodwork, reading fecal samples). Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments/equipment. Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas. Administer medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision. Feed and bathe animals. Answer phones. Help clients with their pets. Qualifications Must be 18 years old or older. Must be a self‑starter, able to multitask and work well in a team. Enjoy working with animals and can handle stressed, ill or painful animals. Preferred 1+ years of experience, but not required. Ability to meet physical demands: lifting, carrying, restraining animals (may assist with animals over 40 lbs., but must lift 40 lbs. independently). Walks or stands for extended periods; frequently works in bent or squatting positions. Experienced in a teamwork approach and works well with all levels of staff.
