Machinist

Location: LAWRENCE, KS 66049

Pay Rate: $29.62/hr- Additional $0.75/hour 2nd shift differential

Shift: 2nd- 3:00pm-11:30pm

Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Machinist for a full-time, 2nd shift opportunity in Lawrence, KS. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical ability, machining experience, and excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor mold performance and efficiency during production
• Operate molding presses as needed to assist with mold repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair molds to minimize production downtime
• Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders
• Program and operate CNC equipment using G-code
• Use micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Assist with training apprentices and other technicians
• Follow established safety, ISO, and SQF procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
  Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of a machining apprenticeship or equivalent work experience
• Previous experience with manual lathes, mills, and grinders
• Experience programming G-code
• Knowledge of Okuma MC-6VA mills and Okuma LC20 lathes preferred
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Ability to use micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
