Social Science Research Analyst (Data Analyst)

Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services. As a Social Science Research Analyst (Data Analyst) GSthe incumbent develops and uses survey market research and statistical methodologies and techniques to conduct studies of assigned HHS programs. Duties

Develops and conducts program and policy analyses to identify and understand the needs and preferences of HHS health and human services programs and the populations they serve. Plans directs and monitors activities involved in conducting surveys of program populations. Activities include questionnaire design sampling field operations and estimation. Designs analyzes implements and interprets studies regarding the influence of communications about disease and therapy.

: You must meet one of the items listed below (A B or C): A. Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position (must provide transcript);

OR B. Possess a combination of education and experience that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field (must provide transcript);

OR C. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field (must be demonstrated in your resume). AND Specialized Experience:

You must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government obtained in either the private or public sector to include: 1. Leading the planning development design implementation and evaluation of Medicaid and CHIP healthcare research projects; e.g. providing answers to technical questions and responding to data requests and reviewing data for data quality issues); 2. Managing data-driven products in collaboration with multiple disciplines including research analysis data analytics and data ingestion; and 3. Developing and presenting technical documents to explain data from studies OR to make recommendations to stakeholders on program policies or program integrity initiatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
