Opportunity:

RN - Rehabilitation

Job Details:

• Shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-week rotating schedule with 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday expectations: one shift of each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or day after, 12/24 or 12/25, 12/31 or 1/1)
• Patient ratio: RN/LPN 1:5-7 with 1-3 CNAs per shift
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab or MedSurg experience required; knowledge of inpatient rehab required
• Will accept first-time travelers
• Will accept RN or LPN for RN posting
• Active Georgia RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Common patient types include neuro, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, CVA, aneurysm, post-craniotomies, brain bleeds, and patients with PEG tubes and trachs
• Required skills include wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, ostomy care, IV antibiotics, PEG tube maintenance, tube feeds, established trach care/maintenance, and handling braces/splints
• No drips required
• May float between Unit 1 and Unit 2
• EMR system: EPIC
• IV pump: Alaris
• Medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Monitors: Phillips
• Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, and suction machines
• Scrub color: Navy for RN, Ceil Blue for LPN
• Free parking available on site

Facility:

This rehabilitation hospital is a specialized inpatient facility with 58 beds, operating a unit with 25 beds and a typical census of 20-25 patients. The facility primarily accepts referrals of acute patients from hospitals and focuses on neurological and rehabilitation care. Comprehensive support services are available including CNAs, a unit secretary, charge RN, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and a hospitalist on-site during the day and on-call at night.
