The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities

About the Role

The Quality Manager is a key member of the Auburn site leadership team responsible for driving process stability, reducing variation and improving business performance through strong quality systems, data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration. The role partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and NPI to improve yield, reduce the cost of poor quality, strengthen customer confidence and support long-term operational excellence.
What You'll Do

• Serve as Management Representative for applicable quality and environmental systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Ensure the quality management system supports operational performance as well as compliance, and continuously improve its effectiveness.
• Lead statistical process control, process monitoring, control-plan governance, process validation and measurement-system reliability.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve process capability, standardize processes and prevent defects.
• Lead root-cause, corrective-action and CAPA activities focused on systemic improvement rather than containment alone.
• Develop visibility to quality and process performance using data analytics and digital tools and proactively identify trends and risks.
• Serve as the primary quality interface for key customers, audits, performance discussions, recovery actions and quality concerns.
• Develop and execute a risk-based supplier quality strategy and partner with Supply Chain to strengthen supplier capability and reduce variability.
• Support NPI launch quality and lead site-level continuous-improvement initiatives involving yield, scrap, process capability and defect prevention.
• Build and develop a high-performing Quality organization, establish clear expectations and accountability, and mentor future quality and operational leaders.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace and/or medical manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with the capability to set a quality vision, motivate teams and drive accountability for results.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and applicable standards/regulations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and 21 CFR Part 820, as applicable.
• Experience with statistical process control, process capability, measurement systems, risk-based thinking and data-driven quality improvement.
• Strong customer and supplier quality skills, including professional management of escalations.
• Strong root-cause, corrective-action, problem-solving, communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is desirable but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to work effectively with ERP, quality systems and digital reporting tools.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week; additional hours and holidays may be required based on business needs

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt / Salaried

Pay Range: $90,000-$100,000 annually, depending on experience
