Summary

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBLDG) .

Duties

• You will plan develop implement and maintain comprehensive process control programs of broad applicability designed to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of Contractor processes including specialized processes.
• You will schedule plan and conduct quality program audits of various contractor systems and processes.
• You will plan and conduct contract reviews for determination of quality program requirements.
• You will review the Contractors procedures practices instructions and directives for contractor compliance completeness adequacy correctness practicality and conflicts.
• You will plan and conduct scheduled procedure evaluations for compliance and program operation adequacy.
• You will prepare written reports memoranda and correspondence detailing results of assignments.

• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-07 Grade Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with maintaining the quality of products or services in one of the following areas: quality assurance procurement inspection production or other related areas.

For the GS-05 Grade Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector interpreting the quality of products or services in one of the following areas: quality assurance procurement inspection production or other related area.

1910 Classification Standards: refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-07 Grade Level:

• successful completion of one full year of graduate level education with major study in quality assurance statistics mathematics production management industrial management computer science engineering engineering technology physical sciences textiles or another field related to the position; -OR-
• successful completion of a bachelors degree with superior academic achievement with major study in quality assurance statistics mathematics production management industrial management computer science engineering engineering technology physical sciences textiles or another field related to the position; -OR-
• a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

For the GS-05 Grade Level:

• successful completion of a four year course of study leading to a bachelors degree with major study in quality assurance statistics mathematics production management industrial management computer science engineering engineering technology physical sciences textiles or another field related to the position; -OR-
• a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is for the 2nd shift.
