Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery patients, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes through skilled assessments and interventions. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed head-to-toe assessments and ongoing reassessments of patients according to established policies.
• Evaluate and manage pain effectively using appropriate assessment tools and educate patients and families on pain control strategies.
• Develop, revise, and evaluate patient care plans based on clinical responses and changing needs.
• Administer medications accurately, adhering to the five rights, and provide age-appropriate medication management.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, treatment options, and health education tailored to individual learning needs.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of labor and delivery experience required.
• Current and active Ohio or compact state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications through AHA, active at start date.
• BSN degree preferred.
• COVID vaccination required with proof of vaccination card.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient assessments, medication administration, and interdisciplinary communication.
