As they continue to expand their multi-site healthcare platform, they are seeking a highly detail-oriented and tech-savvy Senior Accountant to take ownership of the accounting function and help build the financial foundation for their next stage of growth.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will lead day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity, multi-clinic healthcare organization. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, leveraging automation, and ensuring accounting excellence in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has strong healthcare services accounting experience, thrives in a high-growth setting, and possesses the leadership skills to mentor and develop junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the monthly close process across multiple entities and clinic locations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis.
• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle using AP automation tools to ensure efficient and well-controlled processes.
• Partner with external revenue cycle management and billing partners to ensure revenue and cash collections are accurately recorded.
• Collaborate closely with the CFO and operational leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and support business decisions.
• Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls as the organization continues to scale.
• Own fixed asset accounting and reporting.
• Apply lease accounting knowledge and ensure compliance with ASC 842 requirements.
• Prepare accurate, board-ready financial reports under tight deadlines.
• Supervise, mentor, and delegate work to a Junior Accountant.
• Identify and implement AI-driven tools, automation opportunities, and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Support intercompany accounting activities across multiple entities.
• Assist with payroll accounting through the company's PEO relationship.
• Coordinate external audit requests and support tax preparation activities.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Healthcare services industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-site and/or multi-entity organizations preferred.
• Public accounting or audit experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Experience working with ERP systems and AI-powered accounting tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality and accountability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is preferred.

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid: 3-4 days in office, work-from-home flexibility on Fridays)
Salary: $150K

Compensation:
$150,000 per year
