Athletics Team MemberThe Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our athletics team! The Bear Creek School offers a comprehensive and competitive athletic program including tennis, track, cross country, basketball, soccer, golf, and volleyball. As a preschool – grade 12 school, feeder programs begin in elementary with systematic development in athletics throughout the grades. The varsity head coach works alongside and under the Athletic Director to organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program that advances the mission of The Bear Creek School.As a member of The Bear Creek School, you belong to a vibrant preschool - grade 12 community fully committed to the mission of our school.We are seeking individuals who will:Work with the Athletics Director to create a comprehensive approach to all program elements at Bear Creek in grades K - 12Maintain compliance with the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), Emerald Sound Conference, and The Bear Creek SchoolPlan and organize all practice sessions in advanceProvide instruction and training in the fundamentals of the sport/activitySupervise the team during all team activities including travelEffectively communicate with Athletics Department, players, parents, colleagues, and league membersMaintain, inventory, and submit requests for any facility or equipment needsRepresent the school and its community in a professional mannerPromote the athletics program within the school and communityActively teach and promote sportsmanship, fair play, and character development in the program and ensure that all team members and spectators uphold a high standard of conduct at all timesRequirements:High school diplomaSome coaching experience preferred, but not requiredCompliance with WIAA and Bear Creek requirements prior to beginning of sports seasonHolds CPR/AED/First Aid certification (with epinephrine autoinjector supplement) or obtain certification within 90 days of employment start dateCurrently authorized to work in the United States for any employer (sponsorship is not available for this position)Critical Performance Competencies:Positively support the school's policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organizationTruthful, positive, and purposeful when communicating with othersAble to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideasFlexible and adaptable in dealing with new, different, or changing requirementsMaintain confidentiality and security of informationHold self and others accountable to accomplish resultsEffective in handling multiple concurrent tasksAdhere to biblical standards in all areas of conductPhysical Requirements:Requires standing for long periods of timeRequires lifting and moving of items upwards of 50 poundsAble to make visual and auditory evaluation of athletes' performancesWork in a climate-controlled office with travel outdoors between buildings
