Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a diverse group ranging from PreK to 12th grade, with a primary focus on 6th through 8th graders. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work closely with individual learners, managing a caseload of 12 students, and providing a crucial blend of both pull-out and push-in services.

Your role will include supervising the special education process from initial screening through identification, developing and completing IEPs, and ensuring all documentation aligns with district, state, and federal regulations. Collaborate with principals, department heads, and support teams to foster an inclusive education environment and help each student thrive within general education classrooms. Additional responsibilities include monitoring evaluations and timelines for new students and continuously reviewing procedures for compliance and improvement.

Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 5/27/2027
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday through Friday
Pay is set at $40 per hour, with weekly direct deposit.

Qualifications:

• Current New Mexico teaching certificate in Special Education required
• Experience with IEP development and facilitating both pull-out and push-in services
• Strong knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
• Capability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
