Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2026-08-19 Job Description Summary The Associate Director of Alumni Relations develops and leads MiamiUniversity's strategy for engaging students and recent alumni (0–10years after graduation). This position is responsible for creatinga lifelong engagement pipeline that connects the student experiencewith meaningful alumni participation, volunteer leadership, careerengagement, philanthropy, and lifelong affinity for MiamiUniversity. Working collaboratively across University Advancementand campus partners, the Associate Director develops innovativeengagement strategies, evaluates outcomes, and ensures programsadvance institutional priorities. PRIMARY DUTIES
Student to Alumni Transition Develop and lead the university's student-to-alumni engagementstrategy, creating intentional opportunities that cultivatelifelong engagement from first-year orientation through the firstdecade after graduation. Evaluate participation and engagement data to continuously improvetransition programming and increase long-term alumniinvolvement. Design and execute on-campus programming to educate studentsthroughout their time on campus about the benefits of the alumninetwork. Coordinate or support major milestone events, such as first dayphotos, senior send-offs, and commencement-relatedactivities. Direct student involvement with major alumni activities, suchas Alumni Weekend and Homecoming Student Group Leadership Serve as the primary advisor to the Miami University StudentFoundation, developing annual priorities, leadership successionplans, organizational assessment, and strategic initiatives thatalign with University Advancement goals. Lead and advise the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF)- our student-led organization that raises funds for studentscholarships, bridges connections with Miami University alumni, andcelebrates Miami traditions. Attend and support evening meetings and weekend events Recent Alumni Engagement Develop a comprehensive engagement strategy for alumni in theirfirst decade after graduation to advance participation,volunteerism, career engagement, and philanthropy. Develop and implement annual engagement strategies and measurableoutcomes for student and recent alumni audiences aligned with MUAAand university THRIVE priorities. Evaluate engagement trends and program performance to identifyopportunities, inform strategic decisions, and continuously improvethe effectiveness and impact of alumni engagementinitiatives. Direct efforts to maximize the involvement of recent alumniwith Miami University Lead programming targeted towards recent alumni: this couldinclude programs/tools, webinars, in-person events, conferences,etc. Identify and recruit young alumni volunteers for panels,advisory boards, and regional committees Coordinate with the Associate Director, Career Networks, tomaximize job, networking, and mentorship opportunities for recentalumni Direct efforts to track and recognize new alumniengagement Produce targeted webinars and online content Communications & Marketing Collaborate with Advancement Communications to develop and executecomprehensive marketing and communications strategies that increaseawareness, participation, and affinity among students and recentalumni. University Advancement Partner with Annual Giving and Development colleagues to integrateengagement and philanthropic strategies that increase participationand strengthen the donor pipeline among students and recentalumni. Develop and manage assigned program budgets, sponsorship revenue,and vendor relationships, including external partnerships andsponsorship opportunities that expand program reach and enhance thelong-term sustainability of student and recent alumni engagementinitiatives. Represent the Miami University Alumni Association as a strategicpartner and ambassador, building relationships with students,alumni, volunteers, faculty, staff, and external organizations toadvance engagement goals.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimun Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in alumnirelations, student engagement, volunteer management, highereducation, nonprofit leadership, or related field. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills,close attention to detail, strong organizational, interpersonal,and customer service skills, and proven leadership qualities. Must have the ability to problem-solve and deal diplomaticallywith challenging issues, situations, and partners. Willingness to travel, ability to work weekends and/or extendedhours.
