Yard SpecialistLocation: Redwood City, CA, US, 94063-2711 Company Name: Univar Solutions USA LLCPrimary Purpose: Mixes and packages Company products, maintains inventory levels and assists in shipping and receiving products and materials in the warehouse.What You'll Do:Provides for the efficient receiving, marking, and stocking of merchandise; ensures the maintenance and protection of warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.Ensures compliance with all state and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations on merchandise shipped from warehouse.Maintains logs and check lists for warehouse supply items and equipment.Directs the Company's fire and safety programs for all warehouse employees according to established policy and practice.Inspects and checks warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition.Recommends new methods and procedures in warehouse activities.Loads and off loads rail cars and tank trucks.Cleans and maintains warehouse and equipmentPerforms trailer washouts and product dilutions at load racksFills drums/totes at customer locationsPerforms blending of multiple products (splash blending)Performs customer tank pump outs and material transfersObtains samples and performs quality control lab tests as necessaryHandles customer tank installation and maintenance to include purchasing of tanks, oversight of tank inventory, responding and scheduling work at customer sites.What You'll Need:Ability to operate an industrial powered lift truck or forklift according to company procedures and governmental regulationsAbility to use and maintain respiratory protection equipmentAbility to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with trainingBasic knowledge of MS Office SuiteAbility to read, write, count, understand, and speak EnglishCDL A or B desiredPhysical Demands/Environmental Conditions:Physical ability to lift and carry at least 50 lb. net bags for short distancesPhysical ability to tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dollyPhysical ability to stand and walk for long periods of timeExposure to fumes, dirt, noise and hazardous chemicals on a daily basis. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental.
