Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Manager to serve as the on-site owner's representative. This role is embedded within a fast-paced, high-stakes construction environment where simultaneous continuation and new-build projects are underway on the same campus. Reporting directly into the project leadership team, this individual will be the eyes and ears of AWS on the ground - overseeing construction progress, enforcing quality and safety standards, coordinating multi-party stakeholders, and proactively mitigating risk to protect schedule, cost, and delivery objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep data center construction expertise, strong technical acumen across MEP systems, and the leadership presence to drive accountability across vendors, subcontractors, and project teams. Responsibilities: Serve as the on-site Amazon representative for assigned data center project site, attending and contributing to all project meetings led by the senior project manager Monitor day-to-day construction progress and ensure activities align with the approved construction baseline schedule, flagging deviations and recommending corrective actions in real time Review weekly schedule updates including .XER and PDF submissions, validate earned value, critical path activities, float consumption, and 3-week lookahead plans Maintain and own all AWS milestone checklists (FEA, NEA, SC, PFHO) and conduct milestone walkdowns at T-4 weeks, T-1 week, and on milestone dates with CxA, CDS, DCEO, and TiPM teams Perform routine site inspections to verify contract compliance, quality of work in progress, equipment protection plan adherence, and FOD (Foreign Object and Debris) program compliance Create and manage a minimum of two safety observations per building per week in Procore, documenting both positive behaviors and at-risk conditions Exercise Stop Work Authority (SWA) for any imminent danger situation and ensure corrective actions are fully implemented and documented Enforce site security zone management (Grey, Green, Yellow, Red, and Construction Zones) per AWS Spec 015328 and monitor access control, fencing, gate guard operations, and video surveillance Administer the construction contract with the vendor, advise Amazon on all contract matters including change orders, and monitor PCRs for constructability, schedule, and cost impact Manage Procore platform including observations, inspections, punch list items, submittal logs, RFI logs, test reports, and BIM/as-built drawing uploads Facilitate coordination among base building, site developer, vendor, OFCI equipment suppliers, FEA/NEA teams, and project consultants to prevent scheduling conflicts and information gaps Support the commissioning process by attending kickoff, weekly L2-L3, and daily L4-L5 commissioning meetings, and verifying all pre-energization documentation is complete and uploaded to Procore Prepare and deliver weekly progress reports covering schedule status, safety metrics, quality observations, milestone readiness, risk register updates, and critical path risks Maintain the project risk register with updated categories, owners, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle Oversee project closeout activities including punch list management, as-built drawing validation, O&M manual completeness, turnover documentation, and PFHO coordination Maintain a lessons learned log throughout the project and assist in the overall project evaluation within 30 days of PFHO Update Smartsheet tracker and DCBM with schedule progress on a weekly basis Skills: Strong ability to read, review, and interpret construction designs, drawings, and specifications including MEP systems Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in large-scale commercial or mission-critical construction environments Proficiency in Procore for project management, inspections, observations, submittals, and document control Working knowledge of Bluebeam for document markup and drawing review Familiarity with P6 scheduling software or equivalent CPM scheduling tools for schedule review and analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and data analysis Ability to analyze construction schedules, identify critical path risks, and define proactive mitigation strategies Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and practical experience enforcing safety protocols on active construction sites Understanding of data center security requirements and construction zone management protocols Experience with construction quality management including inspection checklists, test reports, third-party inspections, and deficiency tracking Familiarity with commissioning processes (L1–L5) in mission-critical or data center environments Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise weekly reports and elevate issues effectively Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and coordinate across large, multi-party project teams Experience: Minimum 3 years of data center construction experience strongly preferred Demonstrated experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Superintendent on large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects Proven track record managing MEP-heavy construction scopes and coordinating with commissioning teams Experience administering construction contracts, reviewing change orders, and managing vendor performance Prior experience working as an owner's representative or embedded client-side construction manager is a strong asset Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager will be considered OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training required This posting is for a contract assignment The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $83/hour - $93/hour.
