Job Title

Registered Nurse – PICU / Pediatric Float Pool

Location

Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12, 7:00–19:00) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | 52-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Float across multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Med/Surg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED Boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Provide age-appropriate, high-acuity nursing care within scope of practice across assigned pediatric settings
• Adhere to facility float pool policies and adapt to varying unit needs as assigned
• Participate in every other weekend and every other holiday rotation; must be available to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Complete required orientation modules and maintain all required certifications throughout the assignment
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and patient care management

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• NICU experience required; must be comfortable across pediatric care settings
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted with certification pending)
• Active Virginia RN license required (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated; must be flexible with scheduling across float pool units
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience strongly preferred
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• BSN preferred
