Details Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units within a 600-bed facility Specialties include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, and/or vascular) Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring RTs manage ventilators; RNs are responsible for administering nebulizers 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays Schedule combines 8 and 12-hour shifts over a 4-week rotating period Assignments to specific units may last 2-3 weeks, with some shift assignments given as little as 2 hours in advance No on-call requirements Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active MA RN license required at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) Minimum 3 years of related RN work experience required Level I trauma experience required Teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred Epic EMR experience required Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications required Copy of flu vaccination documentation required during flu season Additional Information Assigned to the medical-surgical float pool supporting multiple specialty units Orientation held weekly, typically every Monday barring a holiday Any color scrubs permitted COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed Pass/fail Tele/ECG and medication testing required for Milton and Plymouth campus assignments Must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted Previous employees of any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility must complete a 6-month break before returning No more than three days of RTO will be approved, and no holiday RTO will be approved Public transportation is available; parking can cost up to $43 per day American Traveler Job ID P-760406.
