Location: Little Village Chicago, IL – Frozen Plant Department: Quality Shift: Flexible / Off Shifts & Weekends Pay: $24.00-$27.00/hr

We're looking for an experienced Quality Control Technician II to join our Frozen Plant. You'll play a hands-on role in protecting the quality and safety of our products by inspecting ingredients, monitoring production processes, verifying food safety controls, and making sure we're meeting internal, customer, and regulatory standards.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be one of the people behind the scenes making sure every pizza that leaves our plant meets the Home Run Inn standard.

Keep Quality on Track

• Perform quality inspections and verification activities on ingredients, in-process products, and finished products.
• Monitor and verify Critical Parameters (CPs), Critical Control Points (CCPs), cGMPs, and sanitation activities.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections, environmental monitoring, allergen verification, and hold/release activities.
• Verify that products and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
• Identify, document, and escalate quality or food safety concerns in real time.

Protect Food Safety

• Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety procedures.
• Follow HACCP, FDA, USDA, sanitation, allergen, and other food safety requirements.
• Verify equipment calibration in accordance with company quality procedures.
• Support traceability activities, mock recalls, investigations, and other food safety programs.
• Help maintain a culture where food safety and quality are everyone's responsibility.

Solve Problems & Make Things Better

• Maintain accurate QC records, including test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
• Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformances.
• Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Use good judgment and decision-making skills to help resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
• Partner with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to identify opportunities for improvement.

Help Lead the Team

As a Level II technician, you'll also help raise the bar for the Quality team.

• Train and coach QC Technician I associates on procedures, documentation, and best practices.
• Serve as a backup to QC Leads and QC Supervisors when needed.
• Share knowledge and help teammates understand the importance of quality and food safety.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the plant.

What You'll Bring

• 2–4+ years of experience in food manufacturing, quality control, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working in USDA and/or FDA-regulated facilities.
• Working knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, and FDA/USDA food safety regulations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret information and make sound decisions in real time.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including off shifts and weekends.

Even Better If You Have...

• HACCP, SQF, or GFSI certification.
• Experience working directly with FDA or USDA inspectors.
• Experience in frozen food or pizza manufacturing.
• Experience with environmental monitoring, allergen programs, audits, traceability, or mock recalls.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
