2025 Private Equity Analyst

Position Overview An Analyst of StepStone Private Equity will be focused on supporting the local Private Equity team in its investment activities. The role will involve work across primaries, secondaries, and co-investments in a buyout, venture, or growth equity setting. Essential Job Functions Perform market research using publicly available information and proprietary databases to identify, quantify and analyze macroeconomic trends across a variety of industry sectors Interpret financial analyses prepared by target fund managers, including investment track records and financial statement analysis; prepare valuation analyses on private companies using comparable public companies and precedent transactions Support Senior Investment team on sourcing and managing the inflow of investment opportunities Assess marketing and supporting materials of prospective fund managers to identify key value drivers and important areas for further investigation Conduct reference calls with senior executives to gather insights and information regarding the style and effectiveness of target fund managers Form an independent opinion about the attractiveness of a sector or investment opportunity Construct an argument around an opinion and efficiently communicate that argument both verbally and in written materials; be able to defend position in a team environment, including Investment Committee meetings Use creativity to source and analyze data and to test hypotheses regarding attractiveness of specific sectors and investment opportunities Analyze and monitor the performance of the Firm's existing fund managers and underlying portfolio companies; prepare for and participate in meetings with assigned managers, and conduct on‑going due diligence Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to work legally in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future Undergraduate student graduating anywhere from December 2024 through June 2025, or have 1-2 years of private equity/principal investment experience GPA of 3.2 or higher High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Demonstrable analytical capabilities, including strong quantitative/modeling skills Team player and outstanding work ethic Salary Salary Range: $80,000 - $80,000 The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
