Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy assistant services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to LTAC patients, focusing on functional mobility, strength, endurance, and safety.
• Implement and document treatment plans of care, track patient progress, and adjust interventions as directed by the supervising PT.
• Support gait training, therapeutic exercise programs, balance activities, transfers, and wheelchair or device education as appropriate.
• Monitor patient responses, report changes to the PT, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure infection control and safety guidelines are followed, and participate in discharge planning when applicable.

Requirements

• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in Maine (or eligibility to practice in Maine)
• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program
• Ability to work in a LTAC/SNF setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient-handling skills
• Prior LTAC or SNF experience preferred but not required
