Job Description Tax Senior or Tax Manager Based on Experience Benefits Offered Retirement Plan (6% Employer Contribution) Dental Life Medical Reimbursement Tuition Reimbursement Maternity Paternity and FMLA Leave Paid Time Off Flexible Work Schedules Employment Type Full-Time, Monday - Thursday, In Office, 40 hours per week, Year Round Responsibilities Review and preparation of business and personal tax returns for small business clients from initial meeting through delivery and filing of returns Preparation of tax projections on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis Support staff accountants and bookkeepers with technical questions Communicate with clients Organize and update the tax database Record tax entries into accounting software Understand and apply tax reduction strategies Preparation and/or review of financial statements Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities 3-5 years of proven work experience in Public Accounting in a tax role is a must Must be a CPA, EA or licensed preparer Deep knowledge of personal and business tax code, tax concepts, rules, regulations, forms and savings strategies Experience effectively responding to notices from federal, state and local governments regarding income and payroll tax matters Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Desktop Computer literacy, numerical skills and strong attention to detail are required Experience in Ultra Tax, Accounting CS software is a plus Knowledge of MS Word & Outlook as well as MS Excel is required Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly and execute them reliably Desired Qualities A tech forward approach and broad understanding of a cloud working environment Has mastered great organizational and time management skills Possesses a willingness to gain deep familiarity with the features of our tax and accounting software products Is a delight to work with and feels a sense of loyalty to their coworkers Has an innate desire to help our clients obtain their goals by gaining a strong understanding of our clients’ businesses and the ways in which we can help them Is candid and transparent about mistakes and missteps and enjoys continually learning new things and improving internal processes Understands how to correctly post transactions for different business types and industries Loves the opportunity to shine and actively seeks additional work when assigned tasks have been completed Believes in establishing and following procedures for optimum client continuity and firm results Is a great communicator and has an eye for detail Proactively asks questions of clients and confirms key details Is comfortable and confident communicating with clients and peers with news that can be good or bad Is comfortable asking for help or direction when needed Is proactive and a team player Is available to work 40-60 hours per week during peak seasons - Staff can choose a schedule commitment that works with their lifestyle Ideal Candidate Does Not Disregard deadlines or postpone deadlines Allow distractions to detract from the client's needs Hesitate to ask for help after trying known resources Overstate experience or understanding Delegate more work than they complete React defensively to problems or blame others Believe that they have learned all there is to know Speak about our client's confidential business Experiences That Are Helpful General knowledge of payroll, payroll taxes and benefits General knowledge of not for profit accounting Deep knowledge of fixed assets General knowledge of internal controls #J-18808-Ljbffr Mary Dickson
