What You'll Do

You'll work closely with the Community Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly — balancing leasing support, financial administration, and resident relations while helping the team deliver an exceptional living experience.

Leasing & Marketing Support

• Showcase apartments and community amenities to prospective residents
• Track competitive properties and market trends to help shape leasing strategy
• Help prepare newsletters, event materials, and promotional flyers
• Conduct credit and reference checks on prospective residents

Resident Experience

• Serve as a point of contact for resident inquiries, requests, and concerns
• Support renewal notices and retention follow-ups
• Plan and help execute community events that build connection
• Maintain proactive, friendly communication that keeps residents satisfied
• Oversee move-in and move-out processes, ensuring lease terms are followed

Financial Administration

• Process, record, and deposit rental payments, application fees, and security deposits
• Assist in reviewing delinquent accounts and initiating collection or legal action as needed
• Process invoices through PayScan and verify vendor credentialing before scheduling services
• Support preparation of the annual property budget
• Maintain accurate financial records in Yardi and assist with financial reporting
• Assist with deposit accounting and security deposit reconciliations

Operations & Compliance

• Keep resident files and lease agreements accurate and compliant with Fair Housing, DRE, and all applicable laws
• Ensure timely renewals and ongoing lease compliance
• Conduct regular property walks to maintain cleanliness and curb appeal
• Enforce community policies and lease terms, addressing concerns professionally
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure service requests are handled promptly
• Maintain proficiency in Yardi and CRM IQ, using system tools to support leasing, accounting accuracy, and data integrity

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in multifamily or property management
• A clean DMV record and ability to pass a background check
• Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and other applicable regulations
• Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and comfort with Microsoft Office
• Ability to walk the property regularly, including stairs, for inspections and resident communication
• Comfort using approved AI tools to draft communications and streamline workflows, with a sharp eye for reviewing that content for accuracy and compliance
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure
• A high level of integrity and a genuine, people-first approach to the job
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as the community needs

Room to Grow

This role is a launching point. With strong performance, Assistant Community Managers can grow into Community Manager, Community Manager II, and Senior Community Manager roles as opportunities arise.
