Systems Engineering First Year Intern – National Security Solutions (NSS) Internship Role Summary: As a National Security Solutions – Systems Engineering First Year Intern, you will work with KBR’s Mission Tech Solutions team on SATCOM system acquisition and related data science initiatives. Responsibilities Produce reports from Systems Engineering and Program Management data sources to support SATCOM system acquisition defined by the Chief Engineer. Contribute to a data science community of interest in development processes and procedures to integrate data science into Model Based Systems Engineering. Build functional prototypes using existing AI tools and foundation models. Work closely with other on‑site interns on MBSE & AI tasks. Mentor with experienced professionals and gain experience in the field. Qualifications Must be pursuing a degree in a technical field (Bachelor’s, Graduate’s or PhD). Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills. Strong desire to learn and strong verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to a minimum 1‑semester summer co‑op/internship. Knowledge and application of Python and SQL. U.S. citizenship; must pass a security pre‑screen and be able to obtain a security clearance. Work Load & Compensation Average 20 hours per week, 10 weeks during Summer 2026. Basic compensation: $23 per hour (California only).
