The Authorization Supervisor will be responsible for assisting Physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes judgement and skills necessary to provide excellent patient care under the direction of the practice manager and physician(s) of the practice to team members to ensure smooth patient flow and physician satisfaction and may assist Practice Manager with practice operations and business functions. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed./ppstrong Responsibilities: /strong/pulliMonitor time to make sure employees are checking in and out according to company policy/liliApprove time off requests and approve PTO through Time and Labor/liliArrange for coverage for employees while they are sick/or on vacation/liliEncourage the employees to follow the policies and procedures of IMS/liliResponsible for staff supervision, corrective actions, and recommendations for termination/liliAssist Practice Manager in developing and enforcing staff schedules/liliResponsible for evaluating staff performance, developing standards, and ensuring basic competencies for all staff/liliEncourage employee in their job performance/liliInterview and recommend candidates for hire for open positions/liliWorks with Practice Manager/Director of Operations to develop and implement goals and objectives for the clinical areas. Oversees clinical areas and ensures tasks are being completed accurately and timely (including patient intake, care coordination, documentation, exam room preparation, and in inventory management)/liliProvides support to Practice Manager/Director of Operations to ensure the clinic flow is smooth and efficient and that the patient care needs are met/liliAddresses issues raise by Practice Manager/Director of Operations/liliMonitors schedules and daily flow and report to Practice Manager/Director of Operations/liliSchedules and/or performs maintenance of equipment and/or facilities/liliAssist with Practice Manager functions in the absence of the Practice Manager when needed/liliResponds in a timely manner to requests via email, inner office mail and phone calls from all departments with IMS/liliMonitors task list for completion and report to the Practice Manager/Director of Operations/liliEstablishes credibility and a strong presence in the division/liliPerform other duties as assigned/liliTravel may be required, depending on business needs/liliHours may vary and be outside of normal office hours/li/ulpstrong **Healthcare experience is required** /strong/ppstrong Requirements: /strong/pulliHigh School diploma or GED required/liliA bachelors degree in healthcare administration or business administration is preferred/liliMinimum 1-3 years experience supervising in a clinical setting, including medical insurance, coding and reimbursement/liliAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing/liliAbility to work independently and to be accurate, efficient, and organized/liliRequires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion/liliAbility to respond to emergent or stressful situation in a calm and professional manner/liliAbility to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures/liliIntermediate computer skills (i.e..
